Become an authoritative dispute resolution hub in the Asia-Pacific region and promote regional economic integration and the harmonious development of the global business environment through professional, neutral, and flexible arbitration services.
The Asia Pacific Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) is an alliance of international arbitration institutions jointly established by arbitration experts from different countries. Its arbitration centers currently span nine countries and regions: Singapore Arbitration Center (APIAC Singapore), Hong Kong Arbitration Center (APIAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center), Malaysia Arbitration Center (APIAC Malaysia), Indonesia Arbitration Center (APIAC Indonesia), Canada Arbitration Center (APIAC Canada), USA Arbitration Center (APIAC USA), Australia Arbitration Center (APIAC Australia), and Japan Arbitration Center (APIAC Japan). These institutions handle cases independently and share resources, providing efficient, fair, economical, and convenient international arbitration services for trade cooperation and the various commercial disputes arising between Pacific Rim countries.
To strengthen regional services, the Singapore Arbitration Center (APIAC Singapore) established the Southwest Service Center (Sichuan), Taiwan Investment and RCEP Legal Service Center, Southwest Service Center (Chongqing), and Jiangsu Representative Office. These bodies promote international arbitration legal services, train legal professionals for cross-border matters, and organize forums and conferences on cross-border legal affairs.
The Japan Committee held the Japan event of the APIAC Anniversary Legal and Business Friendly Golf Tournament in Osaka and Hyogo Prefecture. Under the theme “Make Friends through Golf, Build Bridges through Business, Create the Future Together”, it brought together guests from law, arbitration, and business, further expanding the network for exchange among legal and business professionals across the Asia-Pacific region.
The workshop delegation visited the Osaka Cultural Center and the Federation of Chinese Associations in Western Japan, exchanging views on the development of overseas Chinese communities in Japan and the protection of their legal rights and interests, further strengthening the Japan Committee’s ties with the local Chinese community.
The Japan Committee’s workshop delegation visited the Osaka Bar Association and met with representatives of its International Committee and Japanese lawyers. The visit deepened mutual understanding between the Chinese and Japanese legal communities and laid a foundation for future cooperation in arbitration and legal services.
APIAC again held the China–Japan Commercial Law and Arbitration Practice Workshop in Osaka. The curriculum further covered practical topics including Chinese investment in Japan, Japanese corporate governance, cross-border real estate, enforcement of international arbitral awards, and China–Japan transaction negotiations, continuing to deepen China–Japan exchange in law, arbitration, commerce, and investment.
The Japan Committee held its first advanced country-specific workshop in Osaka, bringing together experts from the Chinese and Japanese legal, arbitration, and academic communities. Professional exchanges covered international arbitration, Japanese company law, cross-border investment, insurance law, and anti-money laundering, forming an initial platform for practical China–Japan legal and business exchange.
The APIAC Japan Committee formally held its launch and unveiling ceremony in central Osaka and issued appointment letters to business development consulting experts and arbitrators. The Japan Committee thereby formally launched its operations in Japan, focusing on arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution services for international commercial, trade, and investment disputes involving Japan.
This marks the formal establishment of APIAC’s global arbitration system in Japan, providing important support for commercial cooperation and dispute resolution across the Pacific Rim.
