In February 2024, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (Indonesia) was formally registered in Jakarta, Indonesia, under Indonesian law. Focusing on trade disputes arising from the Belt and Road Initiative and China–ASEAN cooperation, the Chamber draws on its maritime geographic advantages, the talent pool of Southeast Asia’s populous countries, and Indonesia’s increasingly mature legal infrastructure and modern dispute resolution mechanisms. It focuses on providing high-quality, efficient international mediation and arbitration services to business entities in Indonesia. Looking ahead, the Chamber will work to advance the development of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber in Indonesia, support and promote international arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution practices, and assist with and organize dispute resolution proceedings.
